Kate Rundle Named General Counsel at Bookham
Optical components maker Bookham Inc. of San Jose, Calif., announced the appointment of Kate Rundle as executive vice president and general counsel. Rundle, who has nearly 25 years of legal experience in Silicon Valley with expertise in intellectual property (IP), marketing, technology licensing and corporate law, succeeds Tom Kelley, who resigned to remain with his family in Ottawa. Rundle joins the company from MIPS Technologies Inc., where she was general counsel. Previously, she spent more than eight years at Sun Microsystems Inc. in various roles, most recently as deputy general counsel and managing senior director of the Global Law Network for Shared Services. Before that, Rundle served as intellectual property counsel at The 3DO Company and, for 11 years, was an attorney at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, where she provided IP licensing and protection and other services to technology companies.
