Houston-based Quantapoint announced that John Wilson has been named president and chief executive officer of the company. Wilson succeeds Eric Hoffman, who will remain as founder, and will focus full-time on the ongoing development of Quantapoint's laser scanning technology and services. Wilson has held a number of senior-level management positions in the upstream oil and gas service industry. These include executive vice president at Landmark Graphics, a division of Halliburton; and president and CEO of Trade-Ranger Inc., a procurement portal owned by a consortium of some of the largest companies in the oil and gas industry, including BP, Shell, Total, ConocoPhillips and Dow Chemical. Most recently, Wilson was president and CEO of Terra Global Ltd, a company offering geophysical services to the oil and gas industry in West Africa.
