John Barton Hired as Novera Optics CEO

Novera Optics of Santa Clara, Calif., a provider of optical access solutions for FTTx (fiber to the x) applications, announced that it has hired John Barton as CEO. Barton, who has extensive senior management and executive-level experience in the optical electronics market, comes to Novera Optics from Flextronics, where he served as vice president and general manager. Before that, Barton served as chief operating officer and then president and CEO at Wave Optics Inc., an optical components and subcomponents company. As president, he led the company from a 40-person R&D-centric organization through a strategy shift to a 425-person design and manufacturing organization. Barton holds a BS in physics and a BS in mathematics from the University of California, Irvine.
