JDSU announced today it was chosen as a formal test and measurement partner for the Alcatel Internet protocol television (IPTV) system. Included in the agreement are JDSU's QT-200, QT-600 and QT-1100 test heads and its HST-3000 handheld field tester. JDSU's test heads detect patterns of quality of service degradation through traffic monitoring and segment the network to identify the source of the problem. The JDSU HST-3000 handheld triple-play services tester is designed for field technicians who install and maintain access networks, including higher bit-rate triple play services like IPTV and HDTV.
