Intersil Opens New Design Center in India
Semiconductor maker Intersil Corp. of Milpitas, Calif., today announced the opening of a new design center in Hyderabad, India, staffed with experienced semiconductor designers. The center will augment product development efforts at its Bangalore design center and further expand Intersil's presence in the Asia-Pacific region, the company said. "India is an exciting market and well-positioned for phenomenal growth," said Dave Bell, Intersil's president and COO. "We know from experience that India is also home to many talented engineers. The talent in this new design center, in conjunction with our design center in Bangalore, will allow us to expand our development of high-performance analog ICs." Intersil said the design team will include more than 30 engineers by the end of 2007.
