(IMRA), a maker of ultrafast fiber lasers, announced it licensed its patent for amplification technology to Nufern, a maker of fiber-intensive subassemblies and specialty optical fibers. IMRA is licensing Nufern US Patent No. 5,818,630 "Single-Mode Amplifiers and Compressors Based on Multi-Mode Fibers," which involves subassemblies based on Nufern's large-mode area, double-clad (DC) fibers.
