ELMSFORD, N.Y., Aug. 27 -- Fuji Photo Film USA Inc. announced that it has developed the world's smallest all-glass aspherical lens for use in digital cameras. The company will employ a new glass-injection mold process to mass-produce the quarter-sized lenses and thus make aspherical lens manufacture economically viable for consumer digital cameras. Fujifilm said that the technology enabled the development of a lens mechanism small enough for the company's 700 series of digital cameras.
