Flir Award Tops $57M
PORTLAND, Ore., March 12, 2008 -- Thermal imaging systems maker Flir Systems Inc. announced today that it has been awarded orders totaling $57.7 million from the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala., for its multisensor and long-range imager systems.
Flir said the Star Safire III stablized multisensor and THV-3000 long-range imager systems delivered under the orders will support ongoing Army and Marine Corps programs and are part of a previously awarded indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. Work on the orders will begin immediately and be performed at Flir's production facilities in Portland and Stockholm, Sweden.
"These orders, a continuation of Flir's relationships with the US Army and the US Marine Corps, demonstrate the value of our systems for force protection applications. We are pleased the US Army has once again chosen Flir products for this critically important mission, and we look forward to additional orders in the near future," said Earl R. Lewis, president and CEO of Flir.
