The addition gives Fiberloops more than 35 participating wholesale network providers with over 63,000 long-haul route miles and over 10,000 local route miles.
With its existing database of more than 145 cities, Fiberloops adds an additional 30 cities and saturates its coverage in key areas including: New York City, Atlanta and Miami. New coverage areas include: Boston, New York City, Hartford, Conn., and Stamford, Conn. Fiberloops has saturated the northeastern United States with 13 metro markets and 500 miles of long haul fiber connecting Portland, Me. to Washington DC. In addition, Fiberloops has added 1650 miles of dark fiber connecting 30 Midwest cities in 8 states including St. Louis, Kansas City, Tulsa, Columbus and Cincinnati.
Fiberloops allows companies to research wholesale network providers. To conduct a search, the end user can search by local fiber, carrier hotels, long haul fiber routes and central office space. Once the search is completed, a report stating the contact and fiber information is displayed. As of June 2001, more than 17,000 searches have been conducted on the company's site.
