NEWARK, Calif., Dec. 17 -- InVision Technologies said it received an order for multiple explosive detection systems valued at approximately $16.3 million from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This order for CTX 5500 and CTX 2500 systems was based on funding secured prior to the final passage of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act.
"This order of InVision equipment allows the FAA to respond immediately with CTX deployments beginning in December, even prior to funding appropriations for the aggressive implementation of the requirements of the recently enacted aviation security bill," said Sergio Magistri, Ph.D., InVision's president and CEO.
