The new building provides three times more manufacturing space than its previous facility and will support the installation of advanced HVAC systems. It will increase the firm’s high volume production abilities, enhance quality inspection and reduce customer lead times.
In addition, the company has more than doubled its coating space and invested in new coating equipment with load-locking capabilities, enabling continuous production and increasing the plant’s capacity by more than 20 percent, it said. It also has invested in an additional manufacturing cell for aspheric lenses, which will increase production by more than 40 percent over the next 12 months.
“This plant will bring more optics, more technology and more service to our customers worldwide,” said Vincent Thong, sales director of Edmund Optics Singapore. “The expanded capabilities of our new facility strengthen EO’s support to our Asia-Pacific partners and reinforce our overall global image as a leading optics manufacturer.”
