Cambridge Display Technology, a developer light emitting polymer technology for flat panel displays and lighting, has expanded its management team with the appointment of Nigel Berry as chief financial officer. In his new position, Berry will be responsible for the management and strategic planning of all corporate financial, investor relations and management information system functions for CDT.
    Cirrex Corp., a developer of integrated optoelectronic subsystems, has named Albert D. Bender, a former vice president of Nortel Networks, as its CEO. Bender will be responsible for enhancing and solidifying Cirrex's role in enabling DWDM in the metro/access market through low cost integrated optical hybrid subsystems.
    Clear, a global supplier of optical, broadband and digital transport network management software, announced the appointment of Frederick Fromm to the company's board of directors. Fromm brings more than 27 years of telecommunication industry experience to the Clear board of directors. He is currently the president of Oplink Communications Inc., a designer, manufacturer and supplier of fiber optic components. Prior to Oplink, Fromm was the president and CEO of Siemens Information and Communications Networks Inc.
