Flir Systems Inc. a Portland, Ore., maker of thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems, announced it has been awarded a contract from Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. for delivery of three Brite Star airborne thermal imaging laser designator systems. The units will be installed on Northrop Grumman's Fire Scout vertical takeoff unmanned air vehicles for the US Navy's Littoral combat ship. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2005.
