Infinova, a Monmouth Junction, N.J.-based manufacturer of products for video surveillance, access control systems and fiber optic communications, has appointed Milind Borkar as its sales manager for the Middle East and North Africa. Borkar has been a consultant to private organizations and government agencies in the Gulf region for more than 20 years.    . . .    A London-based health-care facility won a clinical excellence award from the UK's National Health Service based on its use of a device from Laserscope, a San Jose, Calif., maker of medical lasers and fiber optic devices. Kings College Hospital's received the award for its demonstration of Laserscope's GreenLight PVP (photo-selective vaporization of the prostate) treatment. The company said the procedure, which is performed on an outpatient basis, costs less and is faster, less invasive and safer than other treatment options, such as trans-urethral resection of the prostate.    . . .    LED manufacturer Lumileds Lighting and Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics today announced a partnership to develop and market LED lighting modules for the automotive industry using Lumileds' Luxeon technology. The companies said the lighting modules will simplify LED lighting design and accelerate adoption of solid-state lighting technology by auto manufacturers. The products are expected to reach the market in 2005 and will be available worldwide.
