Indium Corp. of America, a supplier of electronics assembly materials, announced it has opened a new building at Suzhou Industrial Park in Jiangsu, China, for its solder-paste manufacturing and quality operations as well as sales and technical support. Indium, based in Utica, N.Y., also has manufacturing sites in Singapore, the UK and the US.    . . .    Kopin Corp. President and CEO John C.C. Fan received a 2004 New England Business and Technology Association (NEBATA) award for contributions to the development and deployment of technology in the New England business community. Ten winners were announced Oct. 6 at the Omni Parker House in Boston. Fan has overseen the development and introduction by Kopin of nanosemiconductor-based components in three categories: heterojunction bipolar transistors for wireless handset and WLAN applications, CyberDisplay transmissive active matrix liquid crystal microdisplays for portable consumer, industrial and military electronics applications and CyberLite light-emitting diodes featuring NanoPocket technology. Fan co-founded Kopin, based in Taunton, Mass., in 1984 following 12 years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Lincoln Laboratory.    . . .    Richard Berger, president and COO of NanoDynamics, a Buffalo, N.Y.-based manufacturer of nanomaterials, was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Advanced Materials Particulate Association (APMA), which represents the powder metal (P/M) advanced materials industry.
