Honeywell has granted a license to Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. authorizing the use of a Honeywell US patent relating to liquid crystal displays (LCDs) found in a wide variety of electronic consumer products. The patented technology, which helps concentrate light energy and minimize interference patterns, is widely used in LCD applications, including notebook computers, cell phones, digital still cameras, video camcorders, personal digital assistants, portable LCD TVs and other applications. Financial terms were not disclosed. Samsung SEC is granted a nonexclusive, worldwide license under US Patent No. 5,280,371 entitled "Directional Diffuser for a Liquid Crystal Display." The license agreement extends to LCD products that employ Samsung SEC's LCD modules. Samsung SEC is a provider of LCD modules to manufacturers of LCD-based consumer electronics. . . .
