Laserscope, a San Jose, Calif., developer of medical lasers and fiber optic devices, announced it has signed an exclusive, eighteen-month agreement with Dornier MedTech Europe for the distribution of its GreenLight PVP (photoselective vaporization of the prostate) laser systems and disposable fiber optics in Germany and Russia. . . . Cadence Design Systems Inc. announced it has opened an office in Moscow, the latest in a series of its strategic investments in Russia. Ray Bingham, chairman of Cadence's board of directors, is in Moscow to unveil the new facility, which the company said is the first electronic design automation (EDA) research and development center opened in Russia by an overseas company. The Moscow office will have more than 70 employees, who will focus on EDA tool development, including methodology services, and will be a center for training, research and customer support.
