Jasjit Suri, PhD, has been named director of applied research and development at Fischer Imaging Corp., a Denver, Colo., maker of medical imaging systems focusing on women's health, particularly digital imaging for breast cancer screening. In addition to developing technology for new and existing products, he will lead a joint effort with Philips Medical Systems, under a grant from the National Cancer Institute, to study the feasibility of an integrated ultrasound and digital mammography system. . . . eMagin Corp., a Fishkill, N.Y.-based developer of organic light-emitting diode (OLED)-on-silicon microdisplay technology, announced it has received US patent 10,017,769, "Three-dimensional display emulation method and system," for a stereoscopic display device incorporating a pair of OLED microdisplays in a near-eye display. The company said applications could include CAD visual simulation and virtual reality, for example camera viewfinders, handheld phones with large virtual screens and head-mounted wearable computers. It will demonstrate the technology at the annual Society for Information Display International symposium, to be held May 23-25 in Seattle, Wash. . . . Norman ("Bud") Robertson has been appointed to the board of directors of LeCroy Corp., a Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.-based provider of oscilloscopes and related test and measurement equipment. He will serve on the audit committee. Robertson is senior vice president, finance and administration and CFO at Progress Software Corp., of Bedford, Mass.
