Integral Vision Inc. announced it has received an order for SharpEye inspection systems totaling approximately $1.4 million for delivery in the first five months of 2004 from a large consumer electronics company. The fully automated inspection systems will perform testing at the cell level for liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) displays to be used in rear-projection televisions. Integral Vision, of Farmington Hills, Mich., makes flat-panel display inspection equipment, machine vision-based systems and applications development software.   . . .    UTEK Corp. announced that Dennis R. Pape, PhD, has joined its scientific advisory council. Pape is the president of AlphaLaunch and an entrepreneur-in-residence at the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator. He is the author of six book chapters and more than 50 publications in the field of optical information processing. Previously, Pape was director of optics and photonics at Milcom Technologies, president and CEO of Photonic Systems Inc., group leader of acousto-optic device development at Harris Corp., and a member of the technical staff, Optical Information Processing Branch at Texas Instruments, Central Research Laboratories. UTEK said Pape's knowledge and experience in optics, photonics, optical networks, acoustics, and electronics should enhance the company's ability to assess technologies in those areas. UTEK, based in the UK and in Plant City, Fla., identifies and transfers new technologies from universities and research centers to the marketplace.
