DALSA Corp. announced it has received a major production order valued at $2.1 million for custom image sensors from an international customer. The chips will be the "eyes" of a sophisticated imaging system the customer is developing for space-based remote sensing. The contract is a follow-on order to a custom image sensor development recently completed by the company. DALSA said as a result of features incorporated into this new image sensor product, it now has the capability to supply imaging solutions for space-borne applications. The order will be delivered in the first half of 2004. . . .   The National Science Foundation (NSF) is offering a free online report, "Characteristics of Recent Science and Engineering Graduates: 2001," at: www.nsf.gov/sbe/srs/nsf04302/htmstart.htm. It presents data from the National Survey of Recent College Graduates on the characteristics of men and women who received a bachelor's or master's degree in a science or engineering field from US academic institutions during the 1998–1999 and 1999–2000 academic years. The NSF said in addition to providing demographic information, it can shed light on employment experiences of recent science and engineering graduates, such as the extent to which recent graduates entered the labor force, whether they were able to find employment and the attributes of that employment.
