Padmasree Warrior, corporate vice president of Motorola Inc., was appointed general manager of Thoughtbeam Inc. Thoughtbeam is a new wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola, launched to commercialize its compound semiconductor-on-silicon technology. Motorola also announced it has signed its first licensing agreement for production of gallium arsenide (GaAs)-on-silicon wafers with IQE Plc., which manufactures outsourced epitaxial wafers and services.   . . .   Ralph J.
