AcceLight Networks announced that Debashis Basak, network architect, and Denny Lee, director of product marketing, will chair technical programs at the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC 2001). Basak will chair the Protection session in the Optical Network Architectures conference track. Lee will chair the Network and Scaling Migration session in the Business Strategies and Drivers conference track.
    Corning Inc. will demonstrate the performance of its MetroCor optical fiber using new 10 Gb/s Directly Modulated DFB (DM-DFB) lasers this week at NFOEC 2001 in Baltimore, Md. The demonstration will highlight MetroCor fiber in a 16-channel test bed environment using 10 Gb/s DM-DFB lasers. The deomonstration is available to all attendees of NFOEC 2001 at booth #5825.
