Lightchip announced that it will demonstrate remote wavelength management in a high-channel count metro DWDM optical network environment during this week's Supercomm 2001. Held at booth 159D, the demonstration will feature two Lightchip OWR4010 optical wavelength routers transporting 40 100-GHz ITU spaced channels across 60 km of fiber while being monitored by two Lightchip optical wavelength managers that feed vital wavelength information to four computer locations -- two local, two remote.
Senior analysts at RHK Telecommunications Industry Analysis will present their thoughts on what we should expect to see over the next year in the public telecom market at Supercomm 2001 in Atlanta, Ga. A complete schedule of the three-day presentation, called "After the Gold Rush: What's Next?", can be seen at www.rhk.com/supercomm/.
Bob Lund, chief technical officer of Optical Solutions Inc., will discuss recent fiber-to-home deployments at the Supercomm 2001 International Engineering Consortium session on Wednesday, June 6 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. This IEC session is titled "Broadband Access and Local Loop Evolution," and will provide insight on the evolution of the broadband local loop.
Corning Inc. and Sorrento Networks Corp. announced plans to jointly demonstrate Corning MetroCor optical fiber and Sorrento's GigaMux DWDM system in Sorrento's booth (#5735) at Supercomm 2001 from June 5-7. The demonstration will consist of OC-192 (10 Gb/s) traffic traversing a three-node ring with 225 kilometers of MetroCor fiber without dispersion compensation.
