Michael Ricci has joined JDS Uniphase as senior vice president of its new components and modules product group, which was created through the merger of its components and transmission product groups. Ricci was formerly a vice president and general manager at Intel Corp.'s telecom products division, optical products group and business development group. Before that, he was a vice president with Level One Communications' telecom business unit and was previously an engineer for telecommunications and microprocessor products at Advanced Micro Devices. JDS Uniphase, based in in San Jose, Calif., produces components, modules and subsystems for a variety of markets including communications, display, commercial lasers, document and product authentication. . . . Telecommunications manufacturer Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd., of Tokyo, has established Oki Semiconductor Technology Shanghai Co. Ltd., a marketing and design company for semiconductors, in Shanghai. The new company, established Oct. 15, opened Monday to become Oki's third semiconductor company in China.
