Fischer Imaging Corp. and Philips Medical Systems, a division of Royal Philips Electronics, have announced a three-year global agreement under which Philips will sell, service and support a specialized version of Fischer's digital mammography system integrated with its Unique image processing and user interface. Philips will begin selling the direct digital system in 2005 and will display its systems at the Radiological Society of North America's annual meeting., Nov. 28-Dec. 3 in Chicago. . . . Iridex Corp., a Mountain View, Calif., provider of semiconductor-based laser systems for the ophthalmology and dermatology markets, announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for its new solid-state Iris Medical IQ 810 infrared diode laser photocoagulator. The system, used for the treatment of retinal disorders and glaucoma, is designed to perform traditional and minimum-intensity photocoagulation procedures in ophtalmology offices and operating room settings. It will be demonstrated at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, to be held Oct. 22-26 in New Orleans. . . . Teradyne Inc., a Munich, Germany, supplier of automatic test equipment and interconnection systems, announced that SensorDynamics AG, a Graz-Lebring, Austria-based microsensor integration company, has selected its test systems for use in its microelectromechanical-system-on-package sensors and intelligent sensor interfaces for the automotive industry.
