Luna Innovations Inc., a Blacksburg, Va., research and development company focusing on fiber optic, ultrasonic and wireless sensing, announced that Stephen R. Wilson has joined the company as executive vice president of its new Nanomaterials Division in Danville, Va. A renowned fullerene and nanotube chemist, Wilson is the former chief scientific officer of Houston-based C Sixty Inc., a bionanotechnology company focusing on medical uses of fullerene antioxidants. He has written more than 200 patents and publications in nanotechnology, organic chemistry, biochemistry and biotechnology. The Danville facility will engage in large-scale manufacturing of carbonaceous nanomaterials for government and commercial nanotechnology research and applications.
