Qualcomm Inc., a developer of code division multiple access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, announced it has opened a semiconductor design facility in Austin, Texas. The new office will focus on developing hardware technologies to enhance Qualcomm's chipsets with digital signal processors (DSPs). Qualcomm's current chipsets have integrated DSPs, and the team in Austin will further enhance the DSP capabilities.
