Coreco Imaging Inc., a Montreal-based developer of high-performance machine vision components and services, announced it has opened it first office outside of North America, in Tokyo's Shinagawa District. . . . Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) Senior Vice President Richard Schaar has been appointed math and science education policy advisor for the corporation. Schaar will work with TI management and trustees of the Texas Instruments Foundation to implement programs to increase high-school graduates' interest and abilities in collegiate studies in science, mathematics and engineering. Schaar, who was previously president of TI's Education & Productivity Solutions business, is active in educational reform. He chairs the National Science Teacher's Association's Corporate Advisory Group and is on the Mathematics Association of America's National Advisory Committee for the project Preparing Mathematicians to Educate Teachers. . . .
