Cognex Corp., a supplier of machine vision systems and intelligent sensors, announced it has shipped a machine vision system to AgentWare, a developer of real-time information access and process management systems for the automotive industry, as part of an order for multiple Cognex In-Sight vision sensors that it will integrate at an automotive transmission manufacturing complex in the Midwest. The vision sensors will be used for error proofing and analyzing production by automatically reading 2-D codes on transmission components. . . . DALSA Corp. announced it has received a major order for its high-performance CCD image sensor chips from Accu-Sort Systems, a provider of bar code scanners, CCD vision systems and radio frequency identification technology for the materials handling industry. The sensor order is valued at $1.3 million and will be delivered over the next 12 months. The DALSA chips are the "eyes" of a bar code scanning system developed by Accu-Sort for automated parcel sorting. DALSA also announced a new customer for its FTF 4052C, 22 million-pixel CCD image sensor chip: Jenoptik Laser Optik Systeme GmbH, a producer of digital camera backs for commercial and studio photography, will use the image sensor in its Eyelike precision M22 digital camera back, which captures images using an electronic image sensor in place of traditional film. The image chip was designed by DALSA's Professional Imaging Group in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
