Barnes Group Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Spectrum Plastics Molding Resources Inc. an injection molder of plastic products. The acquisition gives Barnes plastic molding capabilities for metal inserts and continuous stamped lead frames to supply metal-in-plastic and plastic-on-metal assemblies for the electronics, telecommunications and medical markets.
Praxair Inc. has signed a multiyear contract for the supply of process gases to Hemlock Semiconductor Corp. Under the terms of the contract, valued at more than $20 million, Praxair will provide bulk liquid nitrogen and liquid hydrogen to support HSC's manufacturing of polycrystalline silicon.
