MONTREAL, QUEBEC, Sept. 22 -- Coreco Inc. announced it has signed a multiyear agreement with Tokyo Electronic Industry Co. Ltd. (TELI), a subsidiary of Toshiba Corp., to customize smart-vision appliances developed by Coreco's Intelligent Products Group with TELI's sensor technology.
The combined product is expected to be introduced in Japan in December. Marketing and sales will be carried out by TELI's 30 distributors in Japan, Europe, North America and Asia.
"Our partnership with Coreco is an important step in our strategy to increase penetration of the machine vision market," said Hiroshi Takaoka, president and CEO of TELI.
The companies said they will collaborate on two appliances currently offered by Coreco -- one performs measurements (iGauge) and the other inspects labels (iLabel) -- and on developing new products and applications for task-specific applications, such as in the industrial automation market.
