SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 11 -- Coherent Laser Division (CLD) recently introduced the Compass 215M, a diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) continuous-wave (CW) laser that emits at 532 nm. The Compass 215M has been specifically designed as a cost-competitive, low-noise, green laser source for the bioinstrumentation and photofinishing markets. "Specifically, for bioinstrumentation applications, the Compass 215M fills the need for an affordable, reliable, long-lifetime, low-power green laser source. In graphic arts, the 215M also meets the very stringent requirements for low optical noise and low acoustical noise sensitivity that are critical for photofinishing."
