West Palm Beach, FL - Coastal Optical Systems was ranked 57th state-wide in the 2001 "Florida 100" with 77.4% revenue increase over the past three years. The sixth annual Florida 100 provides recognition to the fastest growing private companies in Florida.

This prestigious program, sponsored by the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business Administration, the Fisher School of Accounting and the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, has highlighted the hard work, business savvy, and creative efforts of hundreds of entrepreneurs across Florida.

  • Must be independently, privately held corporations or proprietorships, but not a subsidiary or division
  • Have a three year sales history with an increase in fiscal 2000.
  • Have sales of more than $250,000, but less than $25 million in fiscal 1998.
  • Be headquartered in the state of Florida.

In 1999, the average three-year growth rate of 1999 Florida 100 companies was 221 percent; the highest growth rate was 2,171 percent, and the lowest was 51.83 percent. On average, Florida 100 companies from 1999 employed 68 employees, and earned revenues of $9.7 million. The average company age was 11.1 years. Geographically, they were dispersed throughout the state.
