NXP Semiconductors of Eindhoven, Netherlands, announced that Christos Lagomichos has been appointed executive vice president and general manager of its Home business unit, effective Sept. 1. The unit creates semiconductors and systems for digital consumer electronics applications, such as TVs and set-top boxes. Lagomichos joins NXP, formerly a division of Royal Philips Electronics, from STMicroelectronics, where he was corporate vice president and GM of ST’s Home Entertainment & Displays Group. He has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, initially as a design engineer with Siemens Neuperlach. Lagomichos replaces Marc de Jong, who managed Home on an interim basis and who remains as executive vice president and GM of NXP's Automotive and Identification unit.
