CVI Technical Optics Wins Queen’s Award For Enterprise
CVI Technical Optics Ltd. of Onchan, Isle of Man, announced it has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2008 in the international trade category. The company, part of the Albuquerque, N.M.-based CVI Melles Griot Group, manufactures high-energy laser optics and etalons under the CVI Melles Griot brand for applications including laser material processing (photolithography, annealing, bending, cutting, marking, welding, etc.), medical, aerospace, and research. General Manager Helmut Kessler, PhD, said of the award, "It is the highest honor that can be bestowed on a company in the British Isles and it shows that manufacturing is well and alive in the Isle of Man, able to compete successfully on an international level. Receiving this prestigious award is a recognition of the skills and abilities of our work force who, through their hard and dedicated work, have enabled the company to more than triple exports within a time frame of three years and to further continue the company's growth."
