Paper submissions to CLEO/QELS 2007 (Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Quantum Electronics and Laser Science) are due by Dec. 3 at noon (EST). The conference will be held May 8-10 at the Baltimore Convention Center in conjunction with PHAST (Conference on Photonic Applications Systems Technologies). CLEO accepts papers motivated by applied research and early development in lasers, nonlinear optics, electro-optics and photonics. Papers should be technical in nature, with an emphasis on concepts, materials, techniques, components, systems or applications. QELS accepts papers motivated by basic research in the fields of quantum electronics and laser science. Papers should be technical in nature, with an emphasis on fundamental studies, both experimental and theoretical, relevant topics including classical, nonlinear and quantum optics; laser, atomic and molecular physics; optical spectroscopy; and high-intensity light–matter interactions. CLEO/QELS is sponsored by the American Physical Society, IEEE-LEOS and the OSA. For submission guidelines and a complete topic list, visit: www.cleoconference.org/submissions_speakers/Topics.aspx.
