During Haden’s tenure as president, BluGlass launched its first product suite of gallium nitride- (GaN)-based lasers; acquired a laser diode production facility to vertically integrate its downstream manufacturing processes and reduce production costs; and joined the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Solid-State Lighting and Energy Electronics Center (SSLEEC) consortium — an invitation-only collaboration between industry leaders and the university’s GaN researchers, including blue-LED inventor and Nobel laureate Shuji Nakamura and Steven DenBaars. The company also secured an agreement to provide laser developer and manufacturer Ganvix with green GaN VCSELs last year.

Over 30 years in the laser industry, Haden held senior leadership roles at companies including Kyocera SLD, nLight, Coherent, and JDS Uniphase (now Lumentum).
