AHRENSBURG, Germany, March 2, 2018 — Industrial digital camera manufacturer Basler AG and electronic component distributor Arrow Electronics have signed an agreement for Arrow to distribute Basler’s complete range of embedded products throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

In addition, Arrow added Basler to its digital global linecard. With this, Basler’s embedded vision products are available to online customers worldwide.

With a particular focus on Basler’s embedded vision products, Arrow is working to integrate the technology into its own systems-on-module and boards portfolio for developers and the maker community.

“Arrow is already providing a broad range of solutions to the embedded community, and we are pleased to be working with them, extending the capabilities of developers with our leading vision products,” said Alexander Temme, general manager for Basler’s module business.

Basler cameras are widely used in industrial mass production, medical technology, life sciences and retail applications. Its embedded vision solutions portfolio includes cameras, lenses, modules, software, and all the supporting accessories required to add vision capability to a machine.

“The Internet of Things is driving the demand for many sensing technologies. Being able to add the power of sight to a network of machines is increasingly desirable and, in many cases, essential now,” said Amir Sherman, director of engineering solutions and embedded technology at Arrow’s components division in EMEA.

Basler is a manufacturer of high-quality digital cameras and accessories for industry, medicine, traffic and a variety of other markets.
