Aixtron MOCVD Ready for Nitride Production

Aixtron said it has installed a metallorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system for nitride production, a new 42x2 inch AIX 2800G4 planetary reactor, at a facility in Asia operated by one of its long-term customers. The Germany-based MOCVD maker said the system is its latest and has the largest capacity available, more than double that of competing models. Developed in-house, the reactor was a response to customer demand for larger single-run capabilities for the production of ultrahigh-brightness LEDs, the company said.

metallorganic chemical vapor deposition
A method of growing single crystals in which atoms and molecules from gaseous organic compounds interact and form a layer on a single-crystal substrate.
