SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 27 -- 4D Technology Corp., a Tucson, Ariz., manufacturer of dynamic interferometer systems, announced today that its PhaseCam 4000 was selected for the 2003 Photonics Circle of Excellence Award at a ceremony Monday night at the Fairmont Hotel. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the Photonics West 2004 conference, being held here this week. The annual awards are given to the 25 most innovative photonics-related products of the year by Laurin Publishing's Photonics Spectra magazine editorial advisory board.
The PhaseCam 4000 system can be used to measure the precision of optical components in environments where vibration and air turbulence cannot be controlled. This eliminates the need for bulky vibration isolation equipment and enables the measurement of moving or vibrating parts.
"The PhaseCam 4000 solves one of the biggest problems in interferometry and represents the next generation in interferometric measurement," said Steve Martinek, 4D Technology director of sales and marketing.
