CoolLED Ltd.

The light source for widefield fluorescence microscopy might seem like an unlikely enabler for high-speed live cell imaging, but the level of control that comes with LED Illumination Systems has changed the game. Capturing dynamic cellular processes is now possible with speeds of up to 10 µs, without the expense of motorised equipment (especially when making use of our Sequence Runner program). Moreover, tightly synchronising the light source and camera enhances data accuracy through minimised phototoxicity and photobleaching. In this white paper, microscopists can now examine automated Illumination System configurations, comparing the benefits and trade-offs of each approach in terms of: Speed Cost Signal-to-noise ratio
