About This Webinar
Machine vision lighting technology must constantly evolve to meet increasing demands and advancing imaging technologies. Steve Kinney highlights the latest innovations in lighting, including dynamic machine vision systems that solve previously unattainable industrial applications while moving machine vision outside the plant floor. He also covers the growing relevance of the Industrial Internet of Things, how smart lighting fits into the equation, and how optimized lighting can simplify deep learning vision solutions.

About the presenter:
Steve Kinney is director of engineering at Smart Vision Lights. As an electrical engineer, he joined PULNiX Sensors (now TAKEX America) and entered the machine vision industry in 1998. Going on to work for Basler, JAI, CCS, and now Smart Vision Lights, he has many years of machine vision imaging experience and has become an expert in industrial cameras and imagers. He began working in the lighting sector of machine vision in early 2015, and today he combines camera expertise with machine vision lighting to bring an expanded knowledge base to the machine vision market.
Kinney has been an active AIA member and is a current member of the AIA board of directors. He has been a past chairman of the AIA's Camera Link committee, beginning from its inception in 1999. As chair of one of the major standards committees, he has also been a participant in the G3's Future Standards Forum, and he has been a major material contributor and instructor for the AIA Certified Vision Professional (CVP) program in both the basic and advanced CVP Camera and Image Sensor Technology courses.
