About This Webinar
The goal of the Integrated Photonic Systems Roadmap - International (IPSR-I) is to create a plan to accelerate the high-volume manufacturing of high-value integrated photonics. The document is supported by PhotonDelta and MIT’s Microphotonics Center and is based on the input and consensus of over 400 experts in the field.

The IPSR-I’s technology chapters encapsulate the perspective of experts in testing, assembly, packaging, electronic photonic design automation (EPDA), and front-end platforms to describe anticipated roadblocks and critical needs on the way to scaling the manufacturing of integrated photonics through 2040.

It further covers all PIC advancements that have the potential to create “killer applications” in the next 20 years, in end markets such as automotive, aerospace, biophotonics, datacom, and the Industrial Internet of Things. These applications will drive future investments in R&D and manufacturing capacity for 3D-imaging, RF photonic, photonic interconnect, and spectral and refractive index sensing modules, and they will yield significant benefits for society.

Van Arkel presents the future challenges and opportunities for the integrated photonics value chain, along with insights into the interdependencies between manufacturing technologies.
