About This Webinar
Standards have played and will continue to play a key role in the machine vision industry by ensuring interoperability of components, increasing market size, and shortening the time to market of all products built by standards users.

The global machine vision standards community and its work enabled wire technologies such as GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, and CoaXPress. The cameras based on these technologies today represent over 90% of global machine vision camera production. While gaining this big market share, the cameras evolved their speeds from 100 Mbit/s to 100 Gbit/s. GenICam, hosted by the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA), supported this development over the last 15 years and became the backbone software technology for all these standards. Werner Feith provides insights on how EMVA-hosted standards support the global development of machine vision.

He reviews the current and upcoming EMVA standards activities - including EMVA 1288, emVision, GenICam, and OOCI - showing the enormous reach of standards developments in the constantly growing machine vision industry.

About the presenter:
Werner FeithWerner Feith has 30 years of experience in the machine vision sector, starting as a frame grabber designer, founding a company focusing on FPGA interface IP such as GigE Vision or CoaXPress, and implementing Sensor to Image (S2I) FPGA IP in standard-as-custom products around the world. He sold the S2I company and now works with EMVA on developing and administering standards. He holds a degree in physics from the Technical University of Munich. In 2019, he joined EMVA as standards manager. Feith, together with his former company, S2I, has been an active contributor to A3, JIIA (the Japan Institute of International Affairs), and EMVA standards development and is active globally in coordinating and proliferating EMVA vision standards EMVA 1288, emVision, GenICam, and OOCI.
