About This Webinar
Optical coatings can be confusing and difficult to fully understand for even the most well-established optical fabricators, lens designers, and photonics industry professionals. The field of optical coatings itself continues to evolve from a capability standpoint, as well as from a terminology standpoint, on an almost daily basis.
In this Coatings 101-style overview, Fiore advises end users on how to clearly describe and specify their needs to coating solutions providers to avoid any confusion or costly delays. Applications addressed in this talk include augmented reality, defense, touch and head-mounted displays, polymer optics, infrared optics, and diamond-like carbon (DLC).
Fiore discusses the industry's most commonly specified coatings, as well as coating terminology, explanations of common coating specifications, and the testing data customers should request when placing orders. Fiore also provides insight into which specifications drive cost versus which make the most sense in real-world production scenarios.
