About This Webinar
The combination of picosecond and femtosecond pulse durations with the higher beam quality of modern ultrashort-pulse lasers enables production processes that have unrivaled precision. The multitude of different application parameters, however, requires modular system concepts that can realize various wavelengths, pulse durations, and pulse energies, among other features. Ulf Quentin presents the state of the art for industrial ultrashort-pulse lasers as it applies to various technology concepts (fiber, disk, and slab), combined with advancements in optics and hollow-core fibers for beam guidance and forming.

***This presentation premiered during the 2021 Photonics Spectra Conference Lasers track. For information on upcoming Photonics Media events, see our event calendar here.

About the presenter:
Ulf QuentinUlf Quentin, Ph.D., studied mechanical engineering and management at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and later earned a doctorate in laser materials processing at the Institute of Photonic Technologies and the Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies. In 2015, Quentin won an award from the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Lasertechnik (WLT) (Germany's scientific laser society). He joined TRUMPF in 2013, where he has held various management positions in industry and product management. In October 2020, Quentin was assigned responsibility for specialized sales in micro machining at TRUMPF, with a focus on short- and ultrashort-pulse lasers in industrial applications.
