About This Webinar
Modulight medical laser solutions are used widely in both diagnostic and therapeutic applications — in oncology, ophthalmology, genetics, and drug discovery and imaging.

Modulight is a fully vertically integrated medical laser company. This means that we manufacture both the diode lasers and medical laser systems in-house. The modern lasers are cloud-connected, which helps users to increase efficacy of the treatment, thanks to big data processing and analysis in the cloud. We also design the user experience ourselves, including the usability and user interfaces.

Theragnostic treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one example of how cloud-connectivity can boost treatment efficacy. The spectral data is analyzed in the cloud, and the drug’s presence in the tissue can be confirmed prior to starting the actual treatment. Furthermore, intermediate measurements guide the surgeon in making decisions on treatment continuation. Real-time treatment-monitoring data can either show that sufficient therapeutic response has already been reached or recommend continuing the treatment further in order to reach sufficient therapeutic response. After the presentation, Kemp will offer product demonstrations about Modulight’s Clinical Laser Platform ML7710, a biomedical in vitro and in vivo illumination kit (MLAKIT), and finally about the company’s automated solution for controlled well plate illumination (ML8500).

Zoe YlöniemiZoe Ylöniemi works as a product manager at Modulight Corp. and is responsible for biomedical laser systems. She holds a M.Sc. in biomedical technology and has worked with medical lasers for 5-plus years. During her studies, she spent time at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as a visiting research scholar studying chemophototherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma. At Modulight, Ylöniemi has been involved in introducing a novel glioblastoma laser therapy technology to European clinics and transforming an ophthalmic laser therapy to a bladder cancer environment for treating non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
