About This Webinar
In this webinar, Andrew Bodkin shares insights into developing imaging systems that both experienced engineers and novice developers will find valuable. Over his lifelong career working with cameras, Bodkin has developed an intuitive understanding of how the elements of imaging systems interact. He shares techniques and physical interpretations to clarify the understanding of how these system elements function. This framework is invaluable in simplifying the design and build process of the optical front end of machine vision.

Who should attend:
Engineers and researchers who work with machine vision systems and those who use optics and imaging systems. Anyone working with cameras, test and measurement, quality control, systems integration, or robotics, in industries such as agriculture, automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and semiconductors.

About the presenter:
Andrew Bodkin is president of Bodkin Design & Engineering LLC (BD&E), with more than 40 years of experience with mechanical, optical, and electro-optic system design. There he designs and builds custom imaging systems for both commercial and Department of Defense clients and has become a leading expert in snapshot hyperspectral imaging systems.

Prior to founding BD&E, Bodkin was a systems engineer for LMIRIS and worked on the prototype build and debug of the THAAD missile system and he was a senior engineer at Textron Defense Systems where he designed and built visible and IR diagnostic instruments. He has authored numerous publications and patents.

Bodkin holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Amherst College, a master's degree from Tufts University Electro-Optic Technology Center, and he is the recipient of the Tufts School of Engineering, 2024 Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
