About This Webinar
Injection molded plastic optics offer significant advantages for medical applications such as surgical lenses, illumination systems, diagnostic imaging, and in-vitro diagnostics. These optics provide benefits like reduced weight, lower costs, and improved safety, particularly for disposable devices used in sterile environments. However, challenges such as material selection, biocompatibility, and optical performance (e.g., managing autofluorescence) must be carefully managed to meet the unique demands of medical and diagnostic instruments.

An experienced optical molder plays a critical role in overcoming these challenges by offering material expertise and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) services. This presentation will highlight how strategic partnerships can ensure the success of programs, from design through production, enabling manufacturers to meet the high-performance standards required for medical devices while optimizing cost and manufacturability.
