Ventola focuses on different types of gratings, their distinguishing features, and their associated terminology. He also presents some common applications for the different types of gratings while explaining the benefits in each application.

About the presenter
Dave Ventola is the director of engineering for Optometrics Corporation. He holds an associate's degree in mechanical design from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University. He has over 40 years of direct experience in instrument design and diffraction grating design, testing, and fabrication.
